I walked a couple of times to work this week. One was more expensive in that I passed by McDonald’s to buy myself a cheezy eggdesal with sausage + coffee and hashbrown. The month pretty much started with challenges at work to meet deadlines for the Masinloc and McKinley projects—significant progress by the end of the month. I think what we accomplished is passable. There were multiple times when I think I got the chance to shine again, but nah, I guess my career attitude is in recovery mode. At least it’s better than bein in life-support mode. At least the rest of the team is much more into the profession as I am. Oh, and Vince’s actual last day was before august ended. Kinda sad that he isn’t part of the good things happening in the purhasing department. Although things could have been much better, SEMP improvements are pretty much complete after…almost half a year?
On the music side of things, well, I wish things were better. We finally got some constructive feedback from the lectors. As for my debut as bassist with the rondalla for the joint choir, preparation was stressful and playing was a bit less fun than I wanted. Even still, no reason to back out. And at last, I got myself and some companions in the music ministry copies of Misa Antonio.
Home events got an uber shit thing but that’s gotten over with. There are more blessings despite some downs. One is the avanza getting repaired from another clutch problem. A bigger blessing is the safe and successful pilgrimage of tito nonong ang tita chato in europe. Of course, the blessings extend family and friends.
And with more positive events, mhae’s birthday (day 269 this yearsince it’s a leap year) was full of happiness. I was afraid that I lost it with surprises, but I got successful with diverting attention from possible clues like greenwich crispy bacon thins (which were awesome). Here brothers and sisters got their share of surprises for her, too. And she, 2 weeks earlier, got to give her sister KR a sweet and simple red ribbon surpise. The month of birthdays was a little low in celebrations, but I’m glad I got to greet people, at least, and play a good part of mhae’s happy happy birthday. I’m thinking we still need to have an after-month pahabol celebration with cake and ice cream. I can’t believe that it’s just now that I learned that she never had cake and ice cream celebrations during her adult years.
I think mhae and I had just one movie date this month—train to busan—and it was a good date. And it balanced the heart-heavy event of daisy’s mom’s passing.
Hmm…expenses…yeah…getting to catch up on the target. Note: future tense. Accomplishment on that aspect: Metrobank and HSBC annual fee reversal requests.
Tech stuff are covered in Geekery Middle, mostly about phones and the end/start of tv show seasons. Windows Live Writer still isn’t working with blogger and though I’ve installed Open Live Writer on my ASUS Transformer, there also seems to be a blogger login problem. Oh well.
I guess that’s prety much September for me this year. People are gonna wake Green Day up tomorrow. Oh, they have a new music video. Wow, I can’t remember the last time I cared about a new music video. Wow, music videos are still a thing.
